This is a great Vietnamese place. This was originally known as Rau Ram Café then the owner changed it into Saigon. It became popular during this time, and because the place couldn’t handle all the business it gets, they moved to a brand spanking new place just across from their old spot. And it opened, this time as Rau Ram Café again.
We checked it out when it opened at its new location and the service was kinda slooooooow. It wasn’t jam-packed, they were still some vacant tables and it was before the dinner rush. I don’t know what it is about these Vietnamese restaurants, maybe the food takes a while to cook? Though when they were in their old place, service time was okay. Maybe it’s because they’re in a new kitchen, etc? I have been back here several times and service has been the same.
The service waiter apologized for the long cook time so we really appreciate that! Not like other restos where you follow up and follow up and follow up, and their waitstaff suddenly become blind and don’t see your waiving hand, or deaf and dumb that after you follow up, they don’t even go to the kitchen to check.
But anyway, when the food comes, its goooood! Maybe they just wanted us hungry? But hungry or not, the food is great! It’s Vietnamese food catered to the Filipino taste.
PICTURE OF MENU
No PUJs pass by this restaurant as this is actually deep in a residential area. Ride a Bata-Libertad Jitney and asked to be let down at the Acropolis Garden’s Shed. Then you can ride a tricycle and ask to be brought to Rau Ram.
For those with cars, along the Bangga Pepsi Road, drive straight ahead till you see the Angel’s Burger food Stand, then make a left turn. On the second street on the right, make a turn, straight ahead is Rau Ram Cafe. You’re welcome!
Since they transferred to the new place, parking is not a problem anymore, unless you come in late and the lot’s full! You can still park at the street though; but be mindful since the road is quite narrow. Once you park on one side, it becomes a one way street.
Come early before the lunch or dinner rush starts. Hopefully since there are few diners, the service would be faster. Enjoy!
